The Government is re-organising
the way in which the National Health
Service works and provides services
to its practice Directors.
It is now necessary for patients to
have a channel to receive
information on decisions being taken
by the Practice, which have a direct
bearing on how it supports its
patients needs and for patients to
comment and offer suggestions.
The aim of a PPG (Patient
Participation Group), is to offer a
way for local people to get involved
in the planning of new health
services, and developments of
existing services.
PPGs give patients, GPs and Practice
staff an opportunity to meet; to
exchange ideas, information and then
take action.
Any registered patient who would
like to become a member of the
group, or would be willing to assist
in specific projects as co-opted
help, would be most welcome.
Any questions regarding the PPG
please contact the Assistant
Practice Manager at the surgery.
The fundamental object and priority
of the group, is to make a direct
link between the Patients and the
Practice.
The PPG will provide regular
information on the direction and
services offered by the practice and
gather information from the
patients, which will help the
Practice in formulating and
providing support and services.
It is not a forum for individual
complaints or single issues. The
Practice has a procedure in place to
deal with these concerns.
As communication is important, and
the need to keep unnecessary costs
to the bare minimum, the Practice
kindly asks you, where possible as a
patient, if you would provide your
email address on the cut off page
and return it to the surgery as soon
as possible.
There is a "Patient
Participation Group" notice board
will be sited in the surgery and a
news letter will be published from
time to time.
Thank you for your interest and
co-operation.
